About EditEngine

EditEngine is a Shopify bulk product editor built by Profitonium Apps, a product studio focused on automation, catalog management, and merchant productivity for Shopify stores.

Who builds EditEngine

Profitonium Apps is a Shopify-focused team based in Pune, India. We've shipped apps to 25,000+ Shopify merchants and earned 250+ five-star reviews across our portfolio, which includes:

  • ChatGPT AI Product Description: Generate SEO friendly product descriptions, titles and much more.
  • EditEngine: Bulk Product Editor: Bulk Edit Products & Export Data with live Previews and Undo (this app)
  • Canvaloom Canva Landing Pages: Convert your Canva websites into Landing Page or Page Sections

We don't build for every platform. We build for Shopify, and we build the tools we ourselves wished existed when running stores.

Why we built EditEngine

Shopify's native bulk editor is fine for ten products. It falls apart at a thousand. Merchants we talked to were stuck in one of three places:

  1. Spreadsheet round-trips. Export CSV, edit in Excel, re-import, pray nothing breaks.
  2. Per-product clicking. Fast for a handful, ruinous at scale.
  3. Generic bulk-edit apps that don't show a preview before they commit changes to thousands of products.

EditEngine was built to solve that third gap specifically: see exactly what will change, on every product, before you run it. The Edit Preview is the feature we keep the rest of the app honest with.

What we believe about bulk editing

A few opinions baked into the product:

  • Reversibility is non-negotiable. Every bulk edit is undoable from the History page. Mistakes happen at scale; the tool should assume they will.
  • Variants matter. Most competing apps treat variants as second-class. Half of EditEngine's supported fields are variant-level.
  • Destructive actions deserve friction. Delete Product, Delete Variants, and Delete Metafield all have explicit guardrails. The rest of the app is fast; those are deliberately not.
  • The preview should never lie. What you see in Edit Preview is what runs.
